'There Is No Planet B' Stafford Green Arts Festival

There is No Planet B Stafford (TINPB), is a local Stafford-based group promoting care for the planet by providing school workshop materials and running Stafford Green Arts Festival held in February half term each year.

'There is No Planet B' Stafford Green Arts Festival normally runs in February half term, when we invite the public and schools to submit artwork, photos, and poems with a positive environmental message about helping to look after our planet.

School Workshops

Some of our volunteers go into schools before the Festival to run workshops with different themed topics, for example:

· pollination/pollinators—how they help our food to be grown and how important they are and need protecting

· plastic pollution—how that impacts on wildlife and our environment as well as our carbon footprint

The volunteers chat to the children, who with the support of teachers & volunteers produce artwork and displays with brilliant positive messages, poems, or collages.

Usually the work is displayed at St Chad's church in Stafford, and adult artwork has been displayed at The Gatehouse Theatre in the cafe area.

St Chad’s Church

During February half term St Chad's church is normally open every day except Sunday for visitors to view the artwork submitted by schools, adults, and community groups. On both Saturdays musicians perform their songs, with performances containing positive messages about looking after our planet.

On weekdays volunteers stage art and craft activities in the church for children with their families and parents. Activities have included wild flower seed bomb making, creating collages from magazines and recycled materials, making pollinator sculptures with recycled materials, and willow weaving.

Art Competition

Schools, groups and individuals are invited to submit artwork (of any type), poetry or songs, which have a positive environmental theme, ideally based on the workshop themes, and will be displayed during Stafford Green Arts Festival 'There Is No Planet B'.

Those interested in submitting their work should be able to display the work in St Chad’s church on Friday 9th February from 4pm and be able to remove it from the church on Saturday 17th February from 3pm. 

Winning entries are awarded with prizes which are presented during an Awards Ceremony on March 5th 2024 at St Chads Church.

Eco Song Competition

The winners of the Eco Song Competition will be invited to perform their song during the Green Arts Festival week and at the awards ceremony. Please ensure this is your own work and do not use any materials subject to copyright. The lyrics and an MP3 music file recording of your song should be sent to songcontestnoplanetb@mail.co.uk and we will contact you regarding the presentation media.
